Streat Automation has been involved in a number of power generation projects, primarily in the hydro power sector. Current projects include the Manapouri Hydropower Station unit and station services replacement for Meridian Energy, and the Coleridge Hydropower Station PLC upgrade project for Manawa Energy (formerly Trustpower). We are also providing PLC and HMI systems for the new Harapaki Wind Farm.

With 95% of dairy produced processed to be exported – worth an impressive $19 billion a year, dairy is New Zealands biggest export earner and is a vital part of our economy. Dairy production requires many involved and exacting processes. In todays world, a lot of these are automated, with numerous PLCs on a single site.

Streat Automation has worked on new and existing plant on a range of Fonterra sites, as well as providing on-going automation support at the Darfield factory.

Streat Automations customers in the timber and forestry industry include Daiken and Nelson Pine Industries.

We have been involved in a number of large and complex projects. These include both improvements to existing systems, such as the A & B Saw automation upgrades at Nelson pine and the Daiken Press Cutoff Saw upgrades,
as well as new systems.

The B Saw Upgrade at Neslon Pine had additional challenges as the customer required the saw to remain available while the upgrades took place.

Streat Automation provides on going support for coal processing and handling systems for Bathurst Resources at Stockton mine, and for the coal handling and ship-loading systems for Lyttelton Port Company.

We have a long-term association with both companies, and have supplied many of their control systems, including the train unloader, stacker, reclaimer and ship loader at Lyttelton Port – New Zealands largest coal handling facility.

Streat Automation has completed a number of water, waste water and irrigation projects for industry and for local authorities.

We provided the controls system for Blenheim’s primary water supply scheme, and the Renwick sewerage pumping station for the Malborough district council and have worked on wastewater treatment and irrigation projects for Fonterra.
